How do FSchoolers celebrate Tet?

From January 28th to February 2nd, 2024, vibrant Lunar New Year activities took place at FSchools for thousands of FSchoolers.

Joining the Tet festival at FPT Schools, FSchoolers, parents, and teachers had the opportunity to experience traditional Tet spaces deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture. They participated in activities such as pounding giay cake (round glutinous rice cake), wrapping chung cake (square glutinous rice cake), cooking chung cake, sending best wishes to soldiers on remote islands, visiting miniature streets representing 36 wards, engaging in folk games such as rice straw blowing competition, chess playing, pot smashing, and playing traditional board games. Additionally, they immersed themselves in meaningful Tet songs and music.

Now, let’s explore the Tet festivals recreated at “F” House nationwide together!

1. FPT Ha Nam Primary, Secondary and High School

This year marks the first time that teachers and students from FPT Primary School, Secondary School, and High School in Ha Nam celebrate Tet together.

With the desire to recreate the nostalgia of the past Tet for the Gen Z generation to experience, while also allowing parents to relive the joyful emotions of welcoming Tet in their memories, FPT Schools Ha Nam has chosen the theme of “Tet in Vũ Đại village” to recreate, with many outstanding activities bearing the quintessential Tet flavors of the 1980s in Vietnam.

2. FPT Bac Giang Primary, Secondary and High School

At FSchool Bac Giang, students have the opportunity to experience numerous booths such as wrapping chung cake, Tet flower booths with impressive paintings, calligraphy booths filled with ink strokes, and a countryside market space with a variety of vegetables and fruits “imported” from the Happy Seeding project of FPT Bac Giang Secondary and High School bloc. Everything has been vividly recreated, bringing a genuine feeling for students and parents to experience.

Moreover, the “Fishing Village” with folk games has been organized by FSchool with a variety of activities such as bridge-building over the islands, coconut smashing, monkey bridge, seafood catching, pole jumping, and wrestling, bringing forth hearty laughter and joy as participants experience new and exciting things!

Especially, nearly 100 students at FSchool Bac Giang have created a giant seascape painting. This is the sentiment of students and teachers at FSchool Bac Giang that they want to convey to the sailors of the DK1 Navy Brigade – Naval Region 2 Command in particular and all the soldiers safeguarding our country’s waters in general.

3. FPT Quy Nhon High School

With the desire to bring traditional cultural values closer to students, the traditional Tet festival named “Lạt mềm buộc chặt yêu thương” at FPT Quy Nhon High School was organized on the afternoon of February 1, 2024. Throughout the engaging activities, students and teachers had the opportunity to enjoy the traditional atmosphere deeply imbued with Vietnamese essence.

Furthermore, the festival featured many other activities such as asking for calligraphy from calligraphy master, tug-of-war, etc. This was not only an opportunity for students to showcase their skills and strength but also helped them bond more closely as a group. The spirit of solidarity of each team was particularly evident through the traditional folk games.

4. FPT Bac Ninh Primary, Secondary and High School

At FSchool Bac Ninh, parents, students, and staff had a joyful Spring day together filled with happiness and excitement, experiencing meaningful Tet traditions in 2024 such as:

  • 36 Streets meticulously decorated, with traditional games area including Ô ăn quan (a traditional Vietnamese board game), pushing sticks, ring toss, tug-of-war, and more.
  • A culinary area rich in traditional flavors, featuring dishes such as pork intestine porridge, sweetened ginger tea, rice cakes, etc.
  • Experience making traditional dishes such as chung cake, gio cha (Vietnamese sausage), etc.
  • Enjoy a colorful music party featuring performances from teachers, students, and even parents.

5. FPT Da Nang Primary and Secondary School

Over 2.000 students, along with parents and teachers, participated in the Spring Festival 2024 at FPT Elementary and Middle School in Da Nang with the theme “Tet Is…”. The festival featured nearly 50 booths where students experienced “Wrapping Chung Cake” with the assistance of artisans, producing their first-ever chung cake with the unique experience.

Notably, emphasizing the spirit of thriftiness and raising awareness of efficient resource use to protect the environment, the “Mottainai” booths were where Fschoolers could find useful items for themselves by exchanging old (but still usable) objects with others.

In addition, traditional cultural activities such as asking for calligraphy from Mr. Đồ, making tò he (dough figurines), blindfolded drumming, blindfolded catching ducks, singing folk songs, playing shuttlecock, and pole jumping have contributed to creating a vibrant and colorful picture, helping students better appreciate the atmosphere of the traditional Tet before the new year.

6. FPT Can Tho High School

This year, FPT High School and FPT University in Can Tho cooperated to organize the Spring Festival 2024 with the theme “The Flavor of My Hometown Tet”.

At the Spring Festival, students experienced decorating the tray of five fruits, symbolizing their wishes for the new year.

Especially, students also had the opportunity to experience wrapping Tet cake under the guidance of artisan Le Bay and participate in the lively game “Ringing the Golden Bell”.

7. FPT Cau Giay Primary and Secondary School

With the desire to bring interesting, educational, and joyful experiences to students participating in the Tet Fair activities, this year’s program at FPT Cau Giay Primary and Secondary School adopts the theme “Tet – Island and Sea”, aiming to promote the beautiful values ​​of love for the homeland’s islands and seas.

Through this event, students gain more understanding of traditional Tet, fostering a sense of pride in their national culture within each student’s heart.

8. FPT Hai Phong Secondary and High School

With the theme “Ancient Tet”, teachers and students of FPT Secondary and High School in Hai Phong have experienced a very warm Tet season in 2024.

A series of childhood games were recreated such as making dough figurines, playing traditional board games like “Ô ăn quan”, ring toss, along with traditional booths such as requesting calligraphy from Calligraphy master, making decorative items, etc. After completing each booth, students received special vouchers for exchanging gifts, specially produced by FSchool.

9. FPT Ha Noi High School

With the theme of “Tet in Hola Village”, students were able to participate in a series of booths and game stations imbued with the cultural essence of the mountainous regions. They learned about the costumes of ethnic groups such as the Tay and Mong; enthusiastically played the traditional gongs of the Muong ethnic group; joyfully requested calligraphy for good luck; eagerly made dough figurines and wrapped chung cake together.

In addition, FSchool students were given tickets to revisit their childhood with traditional games such as stilt walking, playing “Ô ăn quan” game, and walking on stilts.

10. FPT Da Nang High School

With the desire to recreate traditional cultural spaces, the FSchool Spring Festival 2024 named “Warm Tet” brought a vibrant and captivating experience with a unique and bustling market activity. The enthusiasm and liveliness at the booths contributed to painting a colorful picture of the old Tet days.

Cùng với đó là đêm Gala “Tiệc sum vầy ”, không khí đêm tiệc sum vầy trở nên ấm áp và tràn đầy tiếng cười bởi chương trình Táo quân FSchool độc lạ có 1-0-2 đến từ học sinh nhà F. Lần lượt các Táo Học tập, Táo Nội trú, Táo Kỷ luật, Táo Công nghệ, Táo Phong trào trình bày màn chầu của mình trước Ngọc Hoàng, báo cáo những hoạt động nổi bật và vinh danh các cá nhân đạt thành tích Khủng long vàng; Khủng long tài năng; Khủng long tiêu biểu trong Học kỳ vừa qua.

Thông qua các hoạt động đón Tết Nguyên Đán tại trường, FSchools mong muốn mang đến trải nghiệm đáng nhớ cho học sinh các cấp về ngày Tết mang đậm hương vị Tết cổ truyền của dân tộc để cho dù cuộc sống hiện đại với nhiều hoạt động vui chơi giải trí trong những ngày Tết, nhưng các em sẽ không quên những bản sắc và giá trị của ngày Tết, từ đó củng cố ý thức giữ gìn và phát huy tốt những giá trị truyền thống quý báu của văn hoá dân tộc..
